I’ve been collecting items from my wedding and when I go thrifting from time to time so I can start putting these small decor items around my apartment. The problem is, I don’t have that much furniture. I just have a couch, dining table and a bed set. Which means I need to buy tables and book shelves but there’s no room in my bank account for that. My creative juices need to start flowing so I can come up with some ideas that will work within my budget. Any ideas?

Sunday funday
Sunday is lazy funday at the Cruz household. It consists of sleeping in, going to church, eating homemade burgers, Scrubs, and 2 hour naps. My husband has been working his butt off at work so what’s the best way to spoil him a bit? Shopping and a nice toasted roast beef sandwich at Taste Bar Cafe. It’s located at the falls, you’re welcome. We also spent the evening at a sunflower field near our house. The field was breathtaking! The reason why we were there was because a friend of ours who is a talented photographer wanted us to be her guinea pigs. Lucky us :). She’s a great gal and extremely talented so it was a pleasure, and I can’t wait to see the photos! Check her out bloggers at merari.com., you won’t be sorry. I hope everyone enjoyed their Sunday. I sure did! Especially after my crappy Friday.
Happy blogging!

Someones trash, my treasure
Before
After
Right now my husband and I are on a really tight budget with our expenses so I have to be as creative as possible for home decor. Eating on the couch while watching television wasn’t my cup of tea. So I looked around a few thrift stores and garage sales to see if I could find anything and thankfully I found something perfect for my little home. I bought this wooden antique dining table and chairs at a local thrift store in Homestead. It was old and beat up, but I knew it had potential. Since my walls are white, I decided to paint everything a dark oak brown so the table would pop in the dining room area. My total expense on this project was less than $140, you can’t go wrong with that.

Marriage is the best thing that’s happened to me. What people might say is a burden, responsibility, bills… I call it living. We’re pretty easy going people so we did our best not to be overwhelmed with all the planning since we had a short engagement. In the end, everything worked out and it was a dream for both of us. And having our families and friends together celebrating our marriage was very special.
So I’ll be sharing good things in my regular, college student, married life and some forks on the road.
